One For The Boys

There are a lot of fantastic makers here in Grand Rapids MI., both Girls and Boys. Guys seem to get the short end of the stick when it comes to the online craft scene after all Etsy.com is 96% female! so I wanted to bring your attention to some great male talent.

1. Nate Runals Blacksmith

Nate Runals is a young man in his early twenty’s who decided to drop-out of college and become blacksmith. He makes amazing one-of-a-kind  knives and other tools — and is very comfortable doing custom work. We need people like Nate to preserve this ancient art form.

2. MercyLeatherWorks

Rusty Zylstra is one of a kind… whether he is sewing himself a pair of pants, converting his school bus into a traveling studio space, or drumming in a hard-core band. He supports himself as a crafter and makes wonderful leather bags, hats, jewelry, and leather-bound journals.

3.  AnthonysWoodShop

Anthony Bunchanan is a great guy who helped my super amazing awesome cool epic brooobuild a DIY wooden arcade game (See it in the etsy Video) He just opened his first Etsy Shop — and His buttons are just what you need to take that sweater you’re knitting to the next level!
