When I was little my parents read out loud to me and pearl all the time. I have always preferred listening to a story rather than reading one. ( When you listen to a story you can craft at the same time!) I would checkout audio books from the library all the time. almost all children’s audio books are narrated by people with english accents I thought they sounded so absolutely superior to my midwestern accent I would practice copying them for fun. I recently bought 5 books on tape from the discard section at the library for 25¢ each. They were in the process of switch out all the books on tape for CDs It made me feel really old! I snagged some of my all time favorites from my childhood and early teen years but they had been well picked over by the time I found out about it. I can’t believe how cheap they were! I was always losing them and paying what seemed like crazy amounts in fines. We have a running joke in our family that we single-handedly paid for the down town libraries renovation. I still listen to books all the time well crafting and think it’s still really under rated form of learning.
